Ran 2:57 marathon in college 20 years ago.

Most all of my PRs are from when I was 29 and 30.

Half Marathon PR 1:17:16 (my best race ever 53rd place Indy Mini 1999)

10 Mile PR 57:22

5K PR 16:32

Short-Term Running Goals:

Start running again and run 1:30 for a half marathon this fall.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Break 3 hours for the marathon

Sub 17 5K, Sub 36 10K.

Personal:

I am married and have two wonderful kids, 14 and 10.  I've been running since 1982.  I never get "basic" injuries.  I always get the real nasty career threatening kind, like stress fracture of the sacrum, ganglion cyst clamping  down on my peroneal nerve.

Did a really hard 45 minutes on the Octane, record mileage 8.42.  Legs were pretty fresh as I hadn't done the Octane in 5 days.  A little bit of adductor pain afterward.

Today did 30 minutes on the Octane during lunch.  4.75 miles.  Legs felt pretty good.  No pain or irritation during or after.  Tonight though, having intermittent pain.

Did a record 8.55 miles in 45 minutes on the Octane during lunch today.  Started out hard and maintained it.  Held HR 168-172 the whole way.  An hour later RHR is still at 80, still rehydrating...  No pain at all during workout.  Intermittent pain an hour later, but in the middle, not anywhere near insertion point.  "Progress"

Did 90 minutes on the Octane today, 14.18 miles.  Easy, no pain or irritation all day even though I also did 5 hours worth of raking leaves yesterday.Had slight pain about 2 hours later.

Today at lunch did 45 minutes on the Octane, felt really good but didn't go all out.  8.00 miles in 45 minutes.  No pain at all during workout.  Later in the afternoon at work, started to have faint intermittent pain.  So far hasn't bothered me this evening.

Tonight did a pretty solid 60 minutes on the Octane, 10.26 miles.  This after having gone to the dentist today.  Mouth in a world of hurt, but made it through.  No pain or irritation during the workout.  Still have bouts of tightness at random times of the day.

Today was a tough day dealing with this injury.  Had intermittent pain throughout the day...  Tonight did 60 minutes on the Octane, 10.44 miles pain free, although did have tightness toward the end.  3 hours later, everything feels great.  Going to try some light stretching.

Did a record 8.75 miles on the Octane during lunch, really pushed hard the whole way, HR 164-176 the whole way.  Cardio wise still in pretty decent shape.  No pain at all during workout.  Tightness on the drive back to work, but not bothering me at all this afternoon.

Did a really solid 99 minutes on the Octane (timer only goes to 99 min), 17.38 miles.  Felt pretty good.  Went through 20 ounces of Gatorade during workout.  No pain at all during workout.  2 hours later, adductor longus is "tired" but not hurting.

Today, did 15 minutes easy on the Octane during lunch, 2.49 miles.  Then tonight after work, did a pretty solid 60 minutes on the Octane, 10.28 miles.  Really took discipline today to stick it out the whole workout, but made it.  No pain or irritation during workout.  On a good note, RHR was only 48 this afternoon at work :)

Today did a pretty solid 30 minutes on the Octane during lunch, 5.28 miles.  Then this evening after work, did another 60 minutes on the Octane, 10.28 miles.  Legs felt pretty decent today, just 3 hours of sleep lastnight. Legs are getting a little sore.  Just intermittent bouts of irritation a couple of times today.  So, still making slow, but good progress and most issues now are just irritation and tightness in the general area, including piriformis.

Tonight did 99 minutes easy on the Octane.  Took a short nap after I got home from work.  Felt pretty good, 16.58 miles total.  No pain or irritation at all.  Good workout to cap a really crappy day at work.

Did a really good 99 minutes again on the Octane this evening.  18.12 miles, most I've ever done in 99 minutes.  HR 144-156 the whole way, all while watching Diamonds Are Forever w/ Austin. No pain or irritation at all during workout.  Had a couple short-lived bouts of pain earlier in the day, reminding me things still aren't all quite right yet.

We to the NCAA Championship meet today to watch the races.  Ran probably about 1.5-2 miles spectating on the course.  Totally awesome race and a lot of fun.  Only ill effects I felt was soreness in my piriformis, now later this evening, intermittent bouts of pain in adductor longus primarily near top of hamstring.

Ran a pretty tough 3.25 miles from home up through Howard Subdivision and back in 24:20!  Legs and lower back are sore from yesterday.  Lot of tightness in butt and upper hamstring starting out, but not in the adductor longus.  First mile in 7:54, last mile in 7:14.  Quite an effort for that pace, but extra 11 pounds makes a huge difference!

Ran from Twigg's, starting out on unfinished part of Heritage Trail then down to Hawthorn Park for a small trail-only loop and then back.  Total time 38:38, roughly 5 miles.  Quads are really beat up.  No pain at all during run.  Later in the evening, left side of back and whole left hip area really tight.  Everything pretty much out of balance right now.

Ran a pretty tough, yet solid 6.5 miles from home down around Collet Park and back in 47:33.  Had 24:42 half way.  Quads are so so beat up now.  Actually started feeling more "efficient" the last two miles w/ the last mile in 6:45.  Got to stop at Collet Park and stretch at my Collet Park Tree.  Whole upper left hamstring very tight and weak feeling the first mile.  Cardio wise, felt awesome.  Cool 32, light breeze, full moon.
