Ran 2:57 marathon in college 20 years ago.

Most all of my PRs are from when I was 29 and 30.

Half Marathon PR 1:17:16 (my best race ever 53rd place Indy Mini 1999)

10 Mile PR 57:22

15K PR 53:24

10K PR 34:29

5K PR 16:32

Short-Term Running Goals:

Start running again and run 1:30 for a half marathon this fall.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Break 3 hours for the marathon

Sub 17 5K, Sub 36 10K.

Personal:

I am married and have two wonderful kids, 14 and 10.  I've been running since 1982.  I never get "basic" injuries.  I always get the real nasty career threatening kind, like stress fracture of the sacrum, ganglion cyst clamping  down on my peroneal nerve.

30 minutes on the Octane during lunch, 5.33 miles.  Pretty good effort.  Had a little pain in left leg about 12 minutes in.  No pain afterward walking when I went back to work.

30 minutes easy on the Octane this morning, 4.61 miles.  Had pain about 6 minutes in.  Got off, stretched a little.  Didn't really bother me for the rest of the workout, but now an hour later, it's like back to square one...

Did 60 minutes on the Octane, 10.3+ miles.  Struggled a little, but made it the whole way.  No pain in adductor during workout.  About an hour and a half later, just some tightness and faint pain.  Watched Chicago Marathon today.  Pretty cool.

Today, did 45 minutes on the Octane, 7.81 miles.  Felt pretty good.  Had some deep dull pain for about an hour after wards.  Stretched and did leg lifts, etc. this evening during MNF.  May try to run a little next Monday.  It's going to be hard going to the cross country meet tomorrow and not be able to run to various points on the course.

Today did a really tough 30 minutes on the Octane.  Struggled and managed 4.81 miles in 30 minutes.  Later in the day, still having intermittent pain.

Today did a record 8.28 miles on the Octane in 45 minutes.  Previous record was 7.82. Kept HR between 156 and 164 the last 30 minutes, so haven't really lost much cardio.  No pain at all today during workout.  We'll see how it feels later ;)

Today at lunch did 10 minutes on the Octane warmup.  Then tried to run 1.5 miles.  Only made it a mile.  Started to have pain about 3 minutes in, so turned around at half mile.  Afterward, lots of irritation for about 2 hours.  When I got home, did an easy 30 minutes on the Octane, 4.51 miles.

Today did 16 minutes on the Octane.  Didn't feel too bad, but started having irritation 15 minutes in.  Tonight, did another 41 minutes on the Octane, 6+ miles.  Didn't feel all that great, had irritation and tenderness.

Tonight did a record 8.38 miles on the Octane.  Pretty tough, but maintained 168 HR for the last 15 minutes.  No pain at all during Octane.  An hour later, not feeling any inflammation or irritation.  We'll have to see how it feels tomorrow morning :)  The weather is absolutely perfect for running outside right now.  Sucks.  This is the best time of the year to run.

Did an easy recovery 30 minutes on the Octane this evening.  Just 4.28 miles in 30 minutes.  No pain at all tonight during Octane.  Had a little inflammation about an hour later that was short-lived.

This afternoon did 60 minutes easy on the Octane, 9.66 miles.  Felt pretty good.  Adductor still about the same.  Arms are getting sore since I hadn't been doing the Octane during the summer.

Tonight, did 60 minutes on the Octane.  Made it to 10.0 miles this time by picking it up the last 30 minutes.  Had a headache but managed.  Didn't have any pain or irritation during.  About 90 minutes afterward, had a little irritation and pain.  Stretched lightly.  Still probably looking at least a few more weeks before I can try to run again.
