Personal:

I am married and have two wonderful kids, 14 and 10.  I've been running since 1982.  I never get "basic" injuries.  I always get the real nasty career threatening kind, like stress fracture of the sacrum, ganglion cyst clamping  down on my peroneal nerve.

Today did 45 minutes on the Octane w/ resistance set to 8.  Made it 7.42 miles.  Really tough workout, HR 156-164 most of the way and very hot inside!  Increasing the resistance to make it more like running.  A few hours later, adductor longus is sore, but not any real pain.

Actually haven't been able to run at all since the last week of September. I tried to run a little in December but, I have a really bad groin pull or nerve entrapment thing going on. Working on getting an MRI, but my insurance company denied it. We'll see. Good luck this Spring!

I hate to hear that you are having such bad injury problems. I hope that you are able to get the MRI and figure out what is going on. Hopefully, you will start to see some improvement and be able to start running again. Keep me updated on your progress.

Did lots of stretching and leg lifts, etc. today.  This evening did 15 minutes on the Octane for the first time in 4 months.  Got in 2.42 miles.  No pain or discomfort at all, but definitely have some major strength imbalances.  True test will be to see how things feel tomorrow.

Today during lunch did 30 minutes on the Octane, got in 4.77 miles.  Had 2.49 miles at 15:00 but had to slow down, there was no way I was going to hang on to that pace for another 15 minutes.  Had a little bit of irritation earlier in the morning, but none at all during the workout and none later in the afternoon.  Tonight mowed the lawn for about 75 minutes.  Actually feeling a little "sore" tonight.

Jim, hey thanks a lot! Been doing the Octane consistently for a while. Still have issues, but at least I can do the Octane. Hope you had a good Spring season!

Sorry to hear that you are continuing have problems. It is good you can still get training in on the Octane. I developed a hip problem at Boston so I am facing some down time. Good luck!
